Me, slightly artistic. Who’d a thunk that?

First Attempt

So I got all whimsical last night and decided that I would make myself a little mini goddess. I had never worked with clay before, but the night of the glue gun madness, I had picked up some grey clay. During the day, I got an idea of what I was going to do…and realized I didn’t have enough clay.

For a first attempt, I don’t think it’s half shabby. The picture is out of focus for a couple of reasons. I was too close to the object, it isn’t correctly centered, my camera’s not that great (Hey at least it isn’t a camera phone shot, am I right?), my taco is the background toward the end became more important and lastly, this is a great way not to show her under bite and other “missing link” facial features.

You should show the sculpture next to the taco so we can get a sense of size. sigh. I wish I had a taco right now.

Hmm, that does make her slightly huge doesn’t it? She’s probably only as big as my hand, not a giantess.

I think that’s pretty awesome to venture out into a new medium of art. Yes, your photographs are art. I lub ’em. Give it some practice and you’ll be doin’ great. 🙂

And delve into another medium I don’t understand? She’ll be tie-dyed at the end of it…hey, that’s a rockin’ idea!
